WOMEN ATTORNEY INITIATIVES:
ATTRACTING, RETAINING, AND PROMOTING WOMEN ATTORNEYS
Talented women attorneys are entering law firms in ever-increasing numbers. Yet, they often are unable to generate new business commensurate with their abilities. We address this discrepancy by (1) providing business development training and coaching to women, (2) creating a culture where talented people can reach their highest levels of productivity, and (3) identifying the resources needed for a women-friendly business culture.
LAW FIRM CULTURE ASSESSMENT AND CHANGE
Law firms who wish to retain and promote women attorneys need to assess and understand the specific issues that women encounter within the firm and the marketplace and to examine work/family balance for their employees
We provide tools for assessing women attorneys’ views of the ways in which the firm supports them or hinders their successful professional development, marketing, and leadership. After gathering specific information about a firm’s culture and management practices (formal and informal), we assist the firm and their women attorneys to build effective communication as a pathway to positive change and productivity.
We also can assess how the Firm’s key clients and prospects view issues of gender and diversity in their hiring of legal counsel.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT TRAINING/COACHING FOR WOMEN PARTNERS
AND ASSOCIATES
Generating new business is one of the avenues for productivity and partnership. We provide business development training and coaching to women partners and associates to enable them to attract new business for themselves and others, to build internal and external marketing networks, and to use interpersonal skills for growing existing clients.
We assist women in identifying key women buyers of legal services and developing strategies to determine clients' and prospects' needs in order to plan and execute an effective sales process.
Our programs are based on years of training experience and research on 400+ women attorneys from law firms across the US. These findings include specific business development practices successful women attorneys use to become rainmakers.
WOMEN TO WOMEN--WOMEN ATTORNEYS INITIATIVES AS BUSINESS
DEVELOPMENT LEADERS
Women increasingly are becoming leaders in corporations and businesses. They are an important source of business and natural allies to other women professionals who could help them resolve legal, business, and organizational issues.
Through our strategic consulting and group processes, senior and junior women partners work together to form cross-disciplinary “pitch groups.” These groups organize, plan, and implement women's corporate and business initiatives based on relationships between women attorneys and their counterparts in business and industry.
